Following is a list of volunteer opportunities to support your child and the marching band organization. Please choose several, as some need only one or two volunteers.
_____Band Camp July 31, August 1, August 4-8 (Attend band camp sessions and assist as needed. This includes serving afternoon snacks, setting up the shower tower, cleaning up the band room, etc. It is especially helpful to have volunteers with a medical background to help with minor medical situations such as blisters, dizziness, etc. Also need chaperones for the evening activity on Wednesday (pool party?)).
_____Chaperones All Season (Four chaperones needed for each bus when we travel. Responsibilities include taking attendance on board, assisting students as needed with uniform and other emergencies, sit next to band at away games, accompany students at all competitions and provide general ’law & order’. We also need in-stand chaperones for home football games.)
FUND RAISERS
_____Tag Day Sept. 6, 2007 (Small team to help organize and lots of drivers needed for the one day)
_____ Lampeter Fair Food Stand September 23-26 (Help sell cheeseburgers & hot dogs, man the grill, clean up crew. 2-3 hour shifts. Tuesday morning, Sept. 25 - Late Friday night, Sept. 28 - If possible, indicate best time available between 10 a.m. & 10 p.m. LOTS OF FUN!)
_____ Barnstormer Concession Stand Dates are below! (Help staff the concession stand at Clipper Magazine Stadium during select Lancaster Barnstormers games. PLEASE SIGN UP ON INDIVIDUAL GAME SHEETS OR CALL D’ANN RESSLER (397-3931). 30 Volunteers needed per game!)

_____ Fundraising Committee (Serve on a committee to brainstorm other ways our marching band can raise funds.)
_____Food July 31, August 1, August 4-8 (Donate dessert items and other snack items for band camp.)
_____Parades Halloween (Oct. 23) & Memorial Day (Monday) (walk along with the band in the two Strasburg parades & provide assistance to band members as needed.)
_____Pit Crew All Season (Set up/tear down pit instruments for performances, pack trailer(s) and transport equipment to all events. Should have a strong back and be available for the majority of events)
_____Props Early Season & Throughout (Construct & maintain props used on the field during the show, repair equipment. Great job for a handyman “tinkerer” type!)
_____Reccognition Night October/November (Senior parent co-chair needed to organize all other senior parents for annual recognition night skit and to choose senior gift. Junior parent co-chair needed to organize the food and decorations. Lots of other help needed to produce an evening for our kids to remember.)
_____Sewing July-August (Assist director with color guard and drum majors costumes and flags. Sewing ability and sewing machine necessary. Most of this work is done in late August and early September.) Please contact Kathy Greene at 333-1730 if you are able to help with sewing.
_____Uniforms During band camp & throughout the season (Fit, distribute, collect & drycleaning control of all uniforms & raincoats.)
_____Video Production Throughout the season (If you have a home video camera and editing system or just have a knack for shooting video, this is your committee! We’re looking for anyone interested in helping with this season’s production, and heading the committee next year.)
